Let's rock!

Just what the Wolves fans wanted – a convincing home win and 3 more points.

The scoreline was emphatic, I think that Palace switched off at 2-0 down, but it will go a long way to boost the team’s confidence as they continue their hectic run-in.

Kenny Miller, who once couldn’t hit a barn door, now looks the striker we paid £3 million for. Great off the ball movement, in the right place for the first, a cracking finish for the second and a penalty for his first Wolves hat-trick.

He now seems to have the confidence to carry the Wolves forward line, rather be used as a bit part player or out on the right of midfield.

Wolves started the game a lot fresher than they did against
Watford. The team must have known how important the match was for morale and in sending out a message to the challengers for the play-offs.

Changes in personnel happened early on for both teams. Palace changed two players, they must have been injuries as they were so early, and Wolves lost the obviously unfit Ndah for Proudlock.

The first goal came from a through ball by Butler, Proudlock hit a cross/shot that Kennedy returned into the box and, Miller fired in off a Palace defender from close range.

The goal seemed to ease the tension for fans and players alike as, in the second half we were able to soak up Palace pressure, before cashing in on Kennedy’s left wing magic.

Deano, on for
Newton, ran in to the near post to slide home a beautifully weighted cross from Sparky.

Kennedy then almost scored the goal of the season when he hit a thunderous left foot shot from all of 40 yards that just went the other side of the post.

Miller, full of confidence, was put through by a great ball from Cameron, and fired past the Palace keeper with aplomb.

When Miller won a last minute penalty, it seemed that Deano wouldn’t let him take over the responsibility, but with nothing to lose, Miller stepped up to complete his first Wolves hat-trick.

As for Palace, they were workman like without posing much threat. Routledge, when he came on, looks like a star for the future but no one else stood out for them.

With Reading losing and
Forest drawing, we’ve moved up to fourth. If Ipswich can take a point off Norwich today in the East Anglian derby then things will look even more rosey.

So bring on
Ipswich on Wednesday.

It will be interesting to see who starts up front as it looks like we’ve lost George for a while now.

Proudlock did ok yesterday without being a real threat, Deano has scored when he’s come off the bench, but Blake and Miller would be most people’s dream ticket.

It remains to be seen whether Blake is ready for the match so it might be Deano, we shall see.
