A fine victory over Middlesborough this afternoon will only serve to have the fans scratching their heads and thinking 'what if?'
With Man City now looking like the only team that can/will be caught, that last minute equaliser at Eastlands last Saturday could have made a big difference.
If Wolves had won 3-2 we'd be on 30 points with City only 3 points ahead of us.
However, as it now stands, the six point gap (plus goal difference) with only four games remaining is too tall an order to close.
But with fixtures at Champions League place chasers Blues and Newcastle looming it seems more likely Wolves will battle with Leicester to avoid finishing bottom of the table.
The promise shown in the Camara/Cort strike partnership was once again underlined today with both strikers netting.
Cort still doesn't excite me but he's winning the balls in the air and seems to be getting a bit more athletic.
Camara may be the next Henry who knows? He didn't really cut it as a winger but now seems to be revelling in the straight striking role he's been given. We always knew about his pace but now he seems to be getting more involved and certainly knows how to finish (penalty aside ;-)
Perhaps if we can persuade the board to part with some of the parachute payment in the summer, we can replace those outgoing players with some younger models and mount an instant return campaign like our near neighbours.
It's always nice to win and it's a great testamony to the lads that they're continuing right through to the end of the season.
Who knows, we may, win away and surprise one of our two hosts, as well as ourselves, along the way!!
Well done lads!
