The right-back has made 15 appearances in the Premier League this term and Wolves manager Mick McCarthy described his loss as a "blow" for the club.
He said: "Ronald's been an important player for us and it's a blow, but we can't do anything about it."
Zubar, who joined from Olympique Marseille in 2009, last ran out for the club
against Blackpool in February.
The former France Under-21 international, who started his professional career with French club Caen, played 72 league games for Marseille and scored two goals in three seasons.
McCarthy's midfield injury list has improved in recent days, however, with Stephen Hunt, Adlene Guedioura and Michael Kightly all returning to training.
Wolves currently sit 17th in the league table and improved their hopes of avoiding the drop after recording a
1-0 win over Aston Villa
on Saturday.
