Saturday's Daily Mail reports that the Molineux outfit are ready to table a big-money bid to their relegated Midlands rivals for Johnson.
The highly-rated 28-year-old is widely tipped to leave St Andrew's this summer and has also been linked with Blackburn and Sunderland.
However, it is said the signing of Johnson is such a high priority for Wolves and boss Mick McCarthy that they are prepared to out-bid other Premier League suitors to be sure of landing him.
De Vries, 30, would be available on a free transfer as he has so far failed to agree terms on a new deal at the Liberty Stadium.
