Man of the Match: Super Sub Vokes!
I have got to be honest that there was nothing between the two sides, because it was both evenly matched throughout the game. But if I had to give man of the match to a none Wolves player, it would have been Plymouth's and Ex Wolves loanee Graham Stack to as much as he surprised me, he played out of his skin and pulled off some great saves to deny Wolves the lead!
The two goals that Wolves conceded was down to poor defending and I don't know if it is just me, but we need another defender to partner Stearman or as back-up for him. As if we lose a defender who would we have to replace them? Neil Collins and Darren Ward, who I don't think are not the best of defenders but they are just as sloppy.
All in all the game was end to end and a great match with plenty of goals, but next match I am expecting a much better performance, against league 2 opposition Accrington Stanley and our next league game, which is at home against Sheffield Wednesday who beat Burnley 4-1 on the opening day of the season.
Wolves Fans also turned up in force by taking 2,700 away supporters to Home Park. They got behind the team and at one point as soon as Plymouth scored the first goal, it felt like same old Wolves with another disappointing season. Then when Wolves brought it back to 2-2 I felt optimistic that we might just do what we did against Charlton last season at The Valley, by winning the game 3-2. We nearly succeeded with a scramble in the area but just couldn't put it away in the back of the net.
The game Ended 2-2 and I am quite happy with a draw, but felt we could have still nicked all 3 points even if we didn't deserve them. As I would rather see us win Ugly football, than Lose at pretty football as 3 points is still 3 points no matter how bad we play.
