Wolves came within five minutes of inflicting a rare home defeat on Stoke at the Britannia Stadium, but had to settle for a point at the end of the game.
"We knew what we needed to do because they're big and physical," the Wolves boss said after the 1-1 draw.
"I think we handled ourselves well and I'm pleased with the outcome and our performance.
"I would have taken a point before the game started, but after how well we contested and having taken the lead I'm disappointed not to be going home with all three.
"We work hard on our corners and how to put the ball into dangerous areas so I'm pleased that has paid off and Neill (Collins) got the reward."
