The 25-year-old underwent surgery to repair persistent knee problems before Christmas and feels in good shape.
Kightly told the club's official website: "I feel brilliant and the operations seem to have done the trick. I was blowing a bit on Saturday but that fitness will come back with games so hopefully I can get some more minutes soon.
"I don't feel as if I'm holding back or carrying anything and hopefully it doesn't look that way - I feel fine.
"There's still a lot of football to play so it would be nice for me to come in and help the lads stay in this league because that's what we want."
