Jones unfazed by tough run of games

Mick McCarthy's team currently reside in the bottom three and have not experienced the thrill of a win since the opening day of the campaign.

And with trips to Chelsea and Manchester United on top of games against Manchester City and Arsenal in the next three weeks, wins will be hard to come by.

Jones, though, is remaining confident of taking points from the big boys despite the fact they failed to overcome fellow strugglers West Ham last weekend.

"We would have liked to have got a win on Saturday and our first-half performance was excellent, but we didn't make it count," he told skysports.com. "They came back into the game in the second half and even had chances to win it in the end.

"We have got a tough run of games coming up, but we are still confident that we can go to these sides and pick up points.

"We proved that last season when we went to some of the bigger teams and got a result.

"Some of the bigger teams in this division have slipped up already against supposed weaker opposition, so hopefully we can add to that list in the next few weeks.

"We always go into every game looking to attack and score goals, so we will be positive and look to pick up as many points as we can."
