"Daniel complained of pain in his groin two days before Christmas and when initial treatment did not resolve the situation, it was decided he should see a hernia specialist in Munich.
"The likelihood is he will require surgery and, if that is the case, he will stay in the clinic for a couple of days and return to Molineux sometime next week.
"The reason we have chosen this particular clinic is because it uses a less invasive technique which is not currently available in this country.
"It gives the player the chance to get back into action sooner and, all being well, Daniel should be back in full training in three weeks."
