Veteran Bolton forward Kevin Davies has surprisingly been included in Fabio Capello's squad for Tuesday's Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro at Wembley.
The 33-year-old's inclusion is evidence that the England boss is prepared to consider players from clubs who are not competing at the top of the Premier League and in European competition.
In-form Jarvis, therefore, is planning to continue to work hard for Wolves amid reports that he is in the thoughts of Capello.
"A call-up would be great," the 24-year-old told Wolves' official website. "If I keep playing well and if Capello's watching, then great. It's completely up to him.
"I just want to keep playing well, keep plugging away here and then maybe get a call-up. But at the minute I just want to concentrate on Wolves and making sure we pick up results.
"It's something that I have always dreamt of. England is fantastic. It's everyone's dream. But you have to try and put it to the back of your mind though and just concentrate on playing football otherwise it could affect you."
Of Davies' call-up, Jarvis said: "It is fantastic for him. He has worked hard over a number of seasons and he's been a great player. I am delighted for him, I will just have to wait and see.
"I can't really comment on my situation in the same light other than it's great to hear it all. Everything about it is fantastic - it's a nice and a good confidence booster for myself.
"I've just got to make sure that it doesn't take away anything from my performances for Wolves."
