Wolves midfielder Stephen Hunt hopes to be fit to face Aston Villa on 19 March after spending six weeks out injured. The 29-year-old, who has not played since injuring his calf during the 1-0 FA Cup defeat by Stoke on 30 January, is set to resume training next week.
"If I'm not ready for Villa, there's an international break," he said.
"If I could get in the [Republic of Ireland] squad [to play Macedonia in a Euro 2012 qualifier on 26 March], maybe I could get some game minutes there."
Should both games come too early, Hunt will look to be fit for Wolves' Premier League game at Newcastle on Saturday, 2 April.
"I'm back running again and hopefully within the next week I'll be back training," he added.
"After that it's up to the gaffer [Wolves boss Mick McCarthy] as to when I'm involved. I feel as fresh as a daisy now and am looking forward to being back."
