However he is still at the Molineux and Hoddle would like him to come off the transfer list and help Wolves back to the top-flight.
"We want him to sign a new deal. He's shown he can be a Premier League player," Hoddle told the clubs official website.
"He has enough ability, and his game has improved over just the last few months.
"I feel he's playing better than last year in his function for the team and what he's given us so far this season has been excellent."
