"Last season was something of a nightmare for me with the injuries I picked up," he told the club's official website.
"I recovered from one hamstring injury and then suffered one in the other leg.
"It was really frustrating for me especially knowing that my contract was up this summer.
"There were one or two things that I wanted to get sorted out before I signed but there has never been an issue with the gaffer and we had a good chat the other day and sorted things out."
