Wolves had looked to be heading for defeat at Molineux on Sunday until Steven Fletcher's late equaliser meant they had picked up five points from their last three games as they bid to avoid relegation from the Barclays Premier League.
With the FA Cup quarter-finals this weekend Wolves do not have another game until they play Aston Villa on March 19.
"The worst thing would have been going into this break on the back of a defeat," Foley told the club website, www.wolves.co.uk.
"That would have been hanging over us all the way through to the Villa game.
"Because we got a point we kept the recent little run going and gave us something to build on. We've got nine games to go and the target is to stay up - hopefully we will achieve it."
