Record signing Fletcher has been unable to command a regular spot since his £7million summer move from Burnley to Molineux with Kevin Doyle also used as the only striker.
Fletcher has also been left out of the Scotland squad for the last three matches - including this week's clash with the Faroe Islands. But Fletcher, who scored his fourth goal of the campaign as a substitute against Bolton at the weekend, is determined to make the breakthrough at club and international level.
He said: "I haven't been getting much action recently but when the gaffer does give me opportunities, hopefully I'll take them. I've got the self belief to score goals and hopefully I can get a start.
"I'm happy to do a job for the team. I played wide on Saturday and I scored when I was playing wide at Tottenham. As for Scotland, if I continue scoring goals then hopefully I'll be in there on merit.
"He (Levein) said I wasn't in the squad because I wasn't playing. But I just need to keep scoring goals then hopefully I'll get an opportunity."
