Ebanks-Blake targeting scoring run

However the former Plymouth hitman insists he has not lost his goalscoring ability since taking the step up to the top flight and that he can help keep his club in the Premier League.

"It's no secret that it's been a frustrating time for me," he told the club's official website.

"I've gone from being a regular starter and playing well to having an indifferent season this year.

"But I am fully focused on what lies ahead - I'm not living for the past, I'm living for the now and at the business end of the season I feel I've still got a part to play."

Ebanks-Blake's last start for the club came against Wigan on January 16 and the formerly prolific forward has hit the net just once this season.

However he does not blame McCarthy for the decision not to utilise him from the start of games and insists that he wants the best results for the team.

"The gaffer picks the team and picks what he feels is the strongest team to win any given game," he said.

"He's gone with one up front which has worked for us in recent games.

"All of the squad get behind whichever team is playing and I've just got to be patient and wait for my opportunity."
