Doyle aggravated the medial knee ligament injury which sidelined him for two months during the penultimate game of the campaign against Sunderland but the Republic of Ireland international is optimistic he will be firing on all cylinders when preparations begin for the new campaign.
The former Reading player said: "I came in for a week at the end of the season and will pop in a couple of times again just to keep an eye on it. But I'll be 100% for pre-season. I'm sure about that."
He added: "It was a bit frustrating to come back at Sunderland and tweak the knee it again but it will be fine.
"I was fine for 10 minutes when I came on. I was enjoying it and felt really good.
"But then I stubbed my toe which is the worst thing you can do with a medial knee injury and it aggravated it.
"It set me back for a couple of weeks but I'm sure I'll be fine for pre-season."
