"Jamie is a player who I have had before. I borrowed him a fair few years ago when I was at Bristol Rovers and he was a youngster at Tottenham. He did very well for me then and helped us stay up," Foxes boss Ian Holloway told his club's official website.
"He is now a senior professional who knows what he is doing. We have got two relatively inexperienced left-backs at the club and I think it is difficult for them considering where we are in the table.
"I have been very up front with Jamie. He wants to earn a longer contract and he has got now until the end of the season to do that."
