The Wolves midfielder had only been on the pitch for ten minutes before being shown a straight red card for a clumsy challenge on Pilgrims midfielder Peter Gilbert twelve minutes from the end of the game.
"I was looking at something else and didn't see the incident. But I've spoken to Coops and he says he got the ball and, if anything, the Gilbert) kicked him first," the Wolves boss said after the 2-1 win at Home Park.
"Until I see the video I can't comment on that but I will say that Coops is an honest player and would not intentionally go out to hurt someone."
