Captain Morgan Confident

Speaking at a press day at Molineux he said "Establishing ourselves as a fixture in the Premiership is our first priority, I was going to say permanent fixture but no-one can guarantee that. Newcastle United would have said they were a permanent fixture but they went down. So we want to be as permanent a fixture as we can get.

"I think we are on course for that. Had we have had a fair rub of the green I think we would have been a few more points better off and we would have been sitting in a lot more comfortable position. I think we have played better than our points tally would have you believe. There have been some matches when we have come off and not got the result that we wanted and you think 'how did that happen?'

"But I think on the whole if it balances itself out across the season, as they always say it does, then we should have a good second half because I think we have had more things going against us than for us in the first half."

Morgan also pointed to a crippling list of injury problems that has meant manager Mick McCarthy has never really had a full squad to choose from as a reason why they are languishing near the foot of the table.

Michael Kightly"The injury list has been horrific. It has been one after the other, Up until recently our player of the year from last season, Kevin Foley, had hardly kicked a ball. Michael Kightly has been out, Stephen Ward had a long spell out, Kevin Doyle was out at the beginning of the season, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake was out at one stage. "
"Dave Edwards, who had been doing well, is out at the moment. Hopefully David and Michael are not too far away from coming back."
